Environmental Protection Agency of Montenegro joined MonteAqua

Mr. Nikola Medenica, Director of Environmental Protection Agency of Montenegro hosted MonteAqua team in his heaquarters in Podgorica, Montenegro

Dr Mirko Đurović, Director of Institute of Marine Biology in Kotor had meeting with Mr. Nikola Medenica, Director of Environmental Protection Agency of Montenegro (EPA) and his team. Mr. Medenica hosted MonteAqua team in EPA headquarters in Podgorica, Montenegro. He expressed interest for project, and confirmed that EPA have capacities to actively participate in project implementation. Discussed project outcome, “Strengthened institutional capacities for adoption of appropriate law provisions and implementing acts for achieving full transposition of EU legislation in the field of Nature Protection”, seems to be particularly relevant for EPA. Dr  Đurović accepted suggestion to organize workshop “Invasive alien species” as first in row of planned workshops, considering that state of  Montenegro will start working on Low on invasive species in early spring 2018. Parties also discussed recommendations and criteria for keeping animals in ZOO, procedures for handling wounded wild animals and needed protocols for existing relevant legislative and marine strategy drafting.
